1. Information We Collect

Account information

If you create or sign in to an account, we may collect information such as your email address, authentication identifiers, verification status, and related account metadata. Authentication may be provided through Firebase Authentication or similar providers.

Picks and simulator activity

If you use picks, scenario sharing, or simulator features, we may store selections, participant identifiers, scenario identifiers, sport, league, season, week, event IDs, selected teams, timestamps, and related app state needed to provide those features.

Newsletter and support information

If you join our email list or contact support, we may collect your email address, favorite team preference, signup source, consent version, message content, and information needed to respond to your request. Newsletter subscriptions may be processed through beehiiv.

Usage, analytics, diagnostics, and technical data

We may collect feature interaction events, page routes, app environment, platform, browser or device class, viewport size, approximate technical information, error logs, crash or diagnostic information, and similar data to understand product usage, troubleshoot issues, secure the service, and improve ScapeGOAT. Analytics and session replay may be processed through Amplitude.

App Store and purchase information

If ScapeGOAT offers paid features through the App Store in the future, Apple processes payments. We may receive information needed to manage access, such as product identifiers, transaction identifiers, subscription status, renewal status, and entitlement information. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide sports analytics, projections, playoff odds, power ratings, picks, scenario sharing, and simulator features.
• Authenticate users, verify accounts, sync picks, and maintain account functionality.
• Send newsletter updates or respond to support requests when you ask us to.
• Measure feature usage, monitor reliability, debug errors, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
• Maintain security, comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect users and the service.

3. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technology

ScapeGOAT may use cookies, local storage, session storage, device identifiers, or similar technologies to keep the app functional, remember preferences, support authentication, manage picks, measure usage, and protect the service.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate ScapeGOAT, including:

• Firebase and Google services: authentication, account support, and related infrastructure.
• Amplitude: product analytics, usage measurement, diagnostics, and session replay.
• beehiiv: newsletter signup and email list management.
• Apple: App Store distribution, app privacy disclosures, payments, subscriptions, and device platform services where applicable.
• Hosting, storage, database, and infrastructure providers: operating, securing, and delivering the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of ScapeGOAT, our users, or others.

5. Public and Shared Content

If you create or share a scenario, card, image, link, or similar output, anyone with access to that output may be able to view the information included in it. Do not include private information in shared content.

6. Sports Data and Attribution

ScapeGOAT may use publicly available, licensed, or open sports data sources, including nflverse-derived inputs, to create transformed analytics, projections, rankings, and simulations. Source attribution and methodology notes are available on our About page.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business operations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and how it is used.

You may request deletion of account-related data by contacting [email protected]. You may also be able to delete your account directly through the account settings or account deletion flow in the ScapeGOAT web or mobile app. Newsletter emails include unsubscribe options, and you may also contact us for help with newsletter removal.

8. Your Choices

• You can choose whether to create an account or use optional features such as picks and newsletter signup.
• You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails through the unsubscribe link or by contacting support.
• You can delete your account through the app when an account deletion flow is available.
• You can manage browser cookies, local storage, and platform permissions through your browser or device settings.
• You can request access, correction, or deletion help by emailing support.

9. Children

ScapeGOAT is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information under our control. No internet or cloud service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
